Maria Elena Vivas De Lenis, 87, of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on November 8, 2025.
Born on February 11, 1938, in Jamundí, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, Maria Elena was the devoted daughter of the late Luis María Vivas and Rufina Lucumí. She was a woman of great warmth, strength, and faith, whose kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Maria Elena found her greatest joy in caring for her family and creating a home filled with love and togetherness. Her legacy of compassion, generosity, and devotion will live on through the many lives she nurtured.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends. May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
Family and friends are welcome to visit on Thursday, November 13th from 5-9pm in Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home, 1055 E. Jersey Street Elizabeth, NJ 07201.

Maria Elena Vivas De Lenis, de 87 años, residente de Elizabeth, NJ, falleció pacíficamente en su hogar, rodeada del amor de su familia, el 8 de noviembre de 2025.
Nació el 11 de febrero de 1938 en Jamundí, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. Era la devota hija de los fallecidos Luis María Vivas y Rufina Lucumí. Fue una mujer de gran calidez, fortaleza y fe, cuya bondad tocó la vida de todos los que la conocieron.
Amorosa madre, abuela y bisabuela, Maria Elena encontró su mayor alegría en cuidar de su familia y en crear un hogar lleno de amor y unión. Su legado de compasión, generosidad y dedicación vivirá en las muchas vidas que ella cuidó y formó.
Será profundamente extrañada y recordada por siempre por sus hijos, nietos, bisnietos, familiares y amigos. Que su hermosa alma descanse en paz eterna.
Familiares y amigos están cordialmente invitados a visitar el jueves 13 de noviembre de 5:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m. en Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home, 1055 E. Jersey Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07201.
