Marian Darda, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024, at BridgingLife Hospice in Westminster, MD. She was born on August 16, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland. Marian was a dedicated individual who devoted over 30 years of her life to the community through her work at the Social Security Administration.
Described as kind, generous, and thoughtful, Marian touched the lives of many with her warm and welcoming personality. Her interests were as varied and vibrant as her character - from painting and drawing to enjoying a game of Bingo at Chick-fil-A with her sisters and friends. She also enjoyed cheering on the Baltimore Ravens. Marian found joy in spending time with her grandchildren and sharing her love for cooking by preparing her famous shrimp and pasta dish and indulging in steamed crabs around the kitchen table with her son Matthew, daughter-in-law Amy, and grandchildren Madeline, Emma, and Declan.
One of Marian's proudest accomplishments was being a long-standing member of the Women's Auxiliary Club at the American Legion. She valued community involvement and always sought to make a positive impact wherever she went.
Marian will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son Matthew Darda; daughter-in-law Amy Darda; sisters Connie Hepding and Joan Onorato; brother Ronald Sehnke and sister-in-law Shirley Sehnke; granddaughter Madeline Darda; granddaughter Emma Davey; grandson Declan Darda. Marian is also reunited in spirit with her beloved sister Patricia Sehnke, mother Cecilia Hammel (Sehnke), and father Herman Sehnke.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Marian's life will take place on May 6th, 2024, starting at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Service at Kaczorowski Funeral Home in Dundalk. Marian's legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
May she rest in peace.
