KEOKUK - Marian L. Ealey, 94, of Keokuk, passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

She was born Aug. 7, 1931, in Des Moines, the daughter of Paul and Margaret Vivian Marsh Reeves.

On June 15, 1947, Marian was united in marriage to Harry Lee Ealey in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1999.

Marian worked for many years as a real estate broker, retiring in 1993. Prior to that, she was employed with Montgomery Ward for eighteen years as a catalog manager. Following her retirement, she joined the staff at Keokuk Area Hospital, where she worked until 2010. Together, Marian and Harry owned and operated Ealey Antique Store in Keokuk for many years. She had a love for antiques and especially enjoyed collecting vintage dinnerware.

She was a dedicated, active member of her community and to the city she loved. Marian belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #41. She also served on the Keokuk City Council for fourteen years and was a member of BPW, the KAH Auxiliary, the Salvation Army Advisory Board, the Lexington Square Residential Council, Veterans Memorial Board and the Southside Boat Club. Marian gave generously of her time, volunteering for many church and community activities over the years.

Her commitment was recognized through numerous honors and awards, including the BPW Woman of Achievement Award, the Jefferson Award, the Marilyn Pohorsky Award, and the Salvation Army Award.

She is survived by her son, Paul Ealey (Sheila) of Keokuk; her daughter, Cheryl Luth (Mike) of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Christine Fleming, Paul Ealey, Kenneth Matlock, and Christopher Matlock; five great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren and a stepsister, Robin Stoneking (Mike) of South Dakota.

In addition to her husband, Marian was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Glen Testman; brothers, Charles Reeves and Kenneth Reeves; and sister, Pauline Paris.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk. Burial will follow in the Keokuk National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 3, with the family meeting with friends from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
