Marian Reese Lamb, 85, peacefully transitioned to her Heavenly home Monday morning, November 3, 2025, at her residence.
Born on March 17, 1940, Marian spent her formative years in Gibson and was a proud 1958 graduate of Glascock County High School.
Marian dedicated much of her early career to public service, working for Jack Evans, Attorney at Law, in Thomson, before assuming the role of secretary for Robert L. Stevens, Superior Court Judge. In 1981, she married her devoted husband, Tom Lamb, and co-owned and supported him in his business ventures until their retirement in 2010.
Described as a "classy Southern Lady," Marian had a flair for elegance, always impeccably dressed and exemplifying graciousness in all her interactions. She was a woman of strong conviction, practicing forgiveness and consistently choosing to do what was right, regardless of the circumstances.
Marian’s love for her family was boundless, particularly for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, which thrilled her heart. She found joy in nurturing a loving and safe environment in her home, where laughter and warmth flourished. Her interests included shopping, traveling across the United States and Europe with her husband, and spending time tending to her yard. An avid reader, Marian enjoyed literature of all genres, which fed her curiosity and love for learning.
A faithful member of the Wrens Christian Fellowship Church, formerly known as Wrens United Methodist Church, she participated actively in church life until her health began to decline, where she remained a source of inspiration and strength to those around her.
Marian is survived by her loving children, Regina Thompson (Lynn Downie) and Jeff Kent (Karen); step-daughter, Judy Bostick; her cherished grandchildren, Jeff Kent Jr. (Misty), Michael Kent (Ana Blake), Edward Bruce Thompson Jr. (Liz), Taylor Newton (Davis), Harper Dixon (Brandon), Boonr Bostick (Alison), Matt Bostick, Leslie Lynam, Lauren Stewart (Chris), and Thomas Lynam; along with her adored great-grandchildren, Bonnie Kent, Maizie Thompson, Barrett Thompson, Bennett Thompson, Tatum Newton, Monroe Dixon, and Mabry Dixon. She also leaves behind other extended family, her church family, and many friends who will remember her with great affection.
Marian was predeceased by her devoted husband, William Thomas Lamb; her son, Richard Robert Kent; her step-daughter, Jennifer Smith; her parents, Mary Chalker Reese and Harris Reese; and her twin brother, Merv Reese.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday evening, November 6, 2025, at James Funeral Home. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday afternoon, November 7, 2025, in the James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Dixon officiating. Interment will follow at Wrens Memorial Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers include Jeffrey Chalker, David Chance, Jon Kent, Michael Kent, Dr. Beau Thigpen and B J Thompson.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Marian’s personal caregivers and the staff of Allay Hospice for their compassion, love and professional care.
Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. Marian’s impact on her family and community will be felt for generations to come.
