Dear Auntie Marian,
Its around the holidays and I surely will miss your shrill voice singing all of the Christmas carols. You did it your way and I always admired that. I miss you, Hester and now Nancy. It just doesn't seem to be the same without you. Thanks for all of your lessons on manners - Love your neice - Barb and of course, your great nephew, Tunde.

Dear Leebens Family,

My Mother, Muriel Nesheim, lives at Westwood Health Care, right next door to Nancy and down the hall from Marian. I would often chat with Marian during my visits with Mother. Marian was such a beautiful lady. I especially loved her red hair! My Mother and I are truly sorry for your loss.

Marian has been a very special person in my life We had great times together and a lot of laughter.

I spent a lot of time with her, and I enjoyed her great sense of humour. I will miss her very much.

Dear Auntie---You always said we redheads have to stick together! I guess this time you'll need to lead the way without me. . . I always admired your professionalism, your pride in your profession, and your model as a "career women." Plus, you had more clothes than anyone I'd ever met! I loved your sly wit, was afraid of your stern looks, and always wondered about the adventures that I knew you had in your life, but that you were shy about sharing---at least with us kids. I admired your love and devotion to your family (i.e. the underwear you sent our dad every year!) ---and your forever friendship with Auntie Hester. I miss you already. Love---your redheaded niece, Patty

Even though I didn't know her personally, I know that she will be much missed and that her spirit lives on in the Leebens clan. It seems that spunky determined women are a Leebens tradition, and that she lived that tradition gloriously.

I am not sure if Marian lived in the shadow of Hester or the other way around. She was an imp - no question about it, but always proper. Her recounting of the "old days" definately leads one to believe she left no stones unturned. She also was highly respected (and proud of it) for being the sought after oral care janitor that she was - as her many fine gifts from patients attest. Tim, although a surprise to most of us, was a wonderful addition to her last years - a gift. We will indeed miss Marian - a spunky Leebens, if ever there was one. Yup.

They may be gone now, but the Dolly Sisters will live in my heart forever. Thank you Auntie for all the great stories. You kept me laughing to the end!

Auntie Marian was a wonderful soft-spoken lady with a quick wit and a sparkling Irish twinkle in her eyes to go with her beautiful red hair. I will miss her stories of the family and having dinner at the Drs. Mayo's home.
