Marian Vyroqua (Hoffman) Leishman went to be with our Lord on November 11, 2025, shortly after celebrating her 101st birthday.
Marian was born in Woodinville, Washington on October 11, 1924 to Ira Oliver Hoffman and Berenice Florence Schindler. Marian became Mrs. Leishman when she married Roland "Roy" of Marysville, Washington, on Sept. 19, 1942. Together they celebrated 70 years of marriage before his passing in 2018. Marian gave birth to three rambunctious boys, Terry, Jack, and Craig, and finally one daughter, Kim. Marian raised her children in Mukilteo, Washington, while Roy earned a living in a variety of trades. In 1972, Marian joined her husband as a business partner at MARVL Productions and they traveled the U.S. together, recording Christian conferences, seminars, and retreats. Then in almost real time, duplicating the master tape on mobile equipment hauled around in a Winnebago. They then sold cassette tapes-and later compact discs-of these events back to the conference attendees. This innovative combination of business and ministry supported the couple and gave numerous opportunities to teach the grandchildren work ethic, sales experience, and interpersonal communication skills for more than 35 years.
Marian proudly told stories of her early years as a rebellious wild child in Darrington, Washington, although she was always quick to admonish her grandchildren and great-grandchildren when they misbehaved. "Many doors will open with ease when you say thank you, and if you please," she would quip.
Marian was a beloved Sunday School teacher and Cub Scout leader when her boys were young. Shopping for Christmas and birthday presents at The Bon Marché was one of her passions. Her home was where family gathered for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, even when she was no longer able to cook, clean, decorate, or prepare for such occasions.
Marian lived out her final years in a small community outside Concrete, Washington. She remained in her own house under the vigilant care of her daughter, Kim, until her last earthly breath. The night before which, she walked, albeit with assistance, to her bedroom, lay down to sleep, and opened her eyes to paradise and her arms to her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her last days were spent with her open Bible beside her, patiently waiting for her next chapter: eternity.
She is survived by her sister, Donna Coke (Jake) of Seattle, Washington; sons Terry Leishman (Susan) of Rockport, Washington, Jack Leishman (Brenda) of Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, Craig Leishman of Kennewick, Washington; daughter Kim Babcock (Roger) of Concrete, Washington; grandchildren Stacy Novy, Nathan Leishman, Cooper Leishman, Allecia Olson, Jesse Babcock, Jessica Dickinson, Rebecca Miller, Joe Babcock; great grandchildren Brandon Decker, Dillon Decker, Mariah Allen, Ava Jones, Peyton Dickinson, Olivia Olson, Tyler Dickinson, Morgan Sample, and Arabel Miller; and great-great-grandchildren Wyatt Leishman, Oliver Decker, Matthew Allen, and Jade Decker.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ira and Berenice Hoffman, husband Roy, sisters Charlotte Arnold and Doris Warter, and granddaughter Christy Eubanks.
