She was a parishioner of St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church in Groton. She looked forward to attending Catholic Mass and participating in church prayer groups. She had a strong faith and shared that faith with her family and friends.
She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Josephine and Mario Amleto; brother, Giovanni Ponticelli; four grandchildren: Marie and Max Linton-Scarles, George Scarles, Marco and Amanda Amleto, Christopher Amleto; her son-in-law, James Scarles, and great grandson Solomon Linton-Scarles. She was predeceased by her husband, Domenico Ponticelli; daughter, Amelia Scarles; her sister, Carmela Cervone and brother Raffaele Ponticelli.
Her family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec.12, at the Mystic Funeral Home, located on Route 1 (51 Williams Ave.), in Mystic.
