Marianne Meabon

Marianne Meabon, 90, of the Rochester area, formerly of Jamestown, NY, serenely passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Aurora House Comfort Care Home. She was born in Warren, PA on July 30, 1935, to the late Russell and Margaret Swanson Hoover.
A proud mother, Marianne worked as office manager at her daughter's dental practice, Kimberly Meabon, DDS, for many years.
She will be reverently remembered by her extended community for her baking; unequivocally, the sweet tastes of Marianne's various Christmas cookies were the anticipated tray of so many holiday seasons. So, too, the pies and cakes she baked were highly anticipated by friends and family alike.
Marianne's spirit will be forever treasured by her children, Dr. Kimberly Meabon of Jamestown, NY and John (Kathy) Meabon of Rochester, NY; her grandchildren, Matthew (Angela) Meabon of Fairport, NY, Paul (Caitlin) Meabon of Scottsville, NY, and Sarah (Grant) Shipman of Estes Park, CO; her great grandchildren, Ella, Noah, Leah, Ezra, and Laynie Meabon as well as Cashus, Atlas, Zoya, and Steele Shipman; her brother-in-law, Jim Meabon; and nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Marianne was preceded in death by her husband, Merritt N. Meabon, whom she married April 18, 1959, and who passed away April 8, 2020; her brother, Richard Hoover; and her sister, Linda Lobdell.
Celebrations of life for Marianne will be ongoing. Burial will be in Sanford Cemetery with her beloved family in Grand Valley, PA.
The family lauds the care extended to Marianne in her final weeks at the Aurora House. Affectionate volunteers and tender nurses offered a harmonious transition for the entire family.
