Mariano Cruz Obituary
Mariano Cruz, age 72, passed away on November 5, 2025. He was born on January 18, 1952, in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico. Beloved father of Santa Cruz. Cherished grandfather of Bobbi Gross, Sasha Gross, Alexandria Deal, Robert Gross, and Gabriella Gross, and treasured great-grandfather of Penelope Young.
A well-known musician in Cleveland, Mariano played his first Cleveland gig at the Puerto Rican parade. Known for his love of music, including the salsa and conga, Mariano shared his love of music with the community. Whether playing with his own local bands or sitting in with other bands, Mariano's passion for music was deep. Playing both the piano as well as the bass at home, his guitar was never far from reach, allowing him to share his musical talents with his family and especially his grandkids, whom he loved dearly and was very, very proud of.
Mariano was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he will be forever remembered and loved.
Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111.
