Marie W. Adair, 80, of Lee County, GA, died August 5, 2024 at her residence. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate.
Marie was born in Springville, AL to James and Margie Wilson on August 18, 1943. She graduated from Rabun Gap-Nacoochee College Preparatory School. After graduation, Marie moved to Leeds, AL where she met her future husband, Joe C. Adair. They married in 1961 and moved to Moody, AL.
In 1978 she and her growing family moved to Lee County, GA where she was employed with Zimmer and Associates for over 15 years until her retirement. Marie enjoyed fishing and was a talented seamstress and sewed for family and friends. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church, The Ladies of Nasah and enjoyed camping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Elder, her husband Joe C. Adair and a sister, Annie Douthit.
Survivors include her children, Tina Kozuch of Lee County, GA, Tammie Reynolds (Mike) of Altamonte Springs, FL and Tracy Walker of Atlanta, GA, her grandchildren, Lisa Kozuch, Christine Johnson, Savannah Walker, Laney Walker and Amelia Brown, two great-grandchildren, Braelynn Brown and Nolan Brown and a sister, Sarah (Larry) Collins of Peoria, IL.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm Saturday at Mathews Funeral Home.
