Marie C. Campbell
December 29, 1945 – October 12, 2024
Marie C. Campbell, 78, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on October 12, 2024. Born on December 29, 1945, in Weatherford, Texas, she was a devoted mom, wife, sister, auntie, and friend, and lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of everyone she met.
On June 22, 1991, Marie married the love of her life, Talton Campbell, in Las Vegas, and they shared 33 beautiful years together.
Marie had a passion for cooking, and her homemade meals were treasured by all who knew her, especially her famous banana pudding, made completely from scratch. She was also an avid golfer, often enjoying her time on the course most when the temperatures soared above 100 degrees! She loved fishing, too, though she was content just being out on the water, whether she caught anything or not.
A collector of beautiful baby dolls from Aston Drake, Marie cherished each one. But more than anything, she was a devoted family woman who loved the time she spent with her family and friends. Her warmth, generosity, humor and love will be greatly missed.
Marie was preceded in death by her mother, Sibyl Wallis; father, Lonnie Elden Wallis; her first and only son, Rodney Manning Phelan; and brother-in-law, Lee Campbell.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Talton Campbell; her daughter, Randa Kirk, and husband, Chance; her brother, Lonnie Wallis, and wife, Kathryn; and her brother, Danny Wallis, and wife, Patti. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Becky McCarty and partner, Joe Harris, Michelle Wallis and partner, Boone Tyree, Amy Bentley, Natalie, Madeline, and Adysson Phipps, Jeff Wallis, Robert Wallis and wife, Saesha, Kyle and Rocco Phipps.
In addition, she is survived by her eight great nieces and nephews, and eleven great-great nieces and nephews. Marie is also survived by her mother-in-law, Donna Steed, and her sister-in-law, Missy Phipps.
Marie’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones. She will be remembered for her love of family, sense of humor, her down home culinary talents, and her joyful spirit on the golf course. To know Marie, was to love her and she will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be October 16, 2024, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. A celebration of Marie’s life will be held at Galbreaith Pickard, on October 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery, in Weatherford.
