Marie Helen Chandler, 84, of Johns Island, SC, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
Born on November 27, 1939, in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of the late Marie Fine Rodriquez. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, faith, and creativity. She found immense joy in her shell collection and spent countless hours crafting beautiful artwork with her beloved shells. Her passion for artistry was only matched by her devout belief in the Catholic faith, which guided her throughout her journey.
Marie is preceded in death by her mother, Marie Fine Rodriquez and her sister, Camille Rose Lewis. She is survived by her devoted husband, Albert Chandler; son, Joseph Kanniainen (Kimberly); daughter, Katherine Marie Miller; granddaughter, Idoni Marie Craven and her five children.
In the hearts of her family and friends, Marie’s memory will live on as a beacon of love. Her gentle spirit and kind soul touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty she so adored during her time on earth.
The family will receive friends on March 7th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 2501 Bees Ferry Rd, Charleston, SC 29414
A service will be held at 11:00 am on March 8, 2024, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3871 Betsy Kerrison Pkwy, Johns Island, SC 29455. She will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery 605 Fort Johnson Rd, Charleston, SC 29412
