Marie was of the Jehovah Witness faith and was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness- Shively, Kentucky. As a homemaker, she dedicated her life to caring for those she loved.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Russell Davidson, whom she wed on Friday February 18, 1949; a brother, Eugene "Rabbit" Davis and a sister, Alma Louisa "June" Poindexter.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathie Wideman of Louisville, Kentucky; sister, Thelma Lucille "Penny" Wray of Burkesville, Kentucky; grandson, Erik Wideman; great-grandchildren, Jenna Wideman and Justine Wideman.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday April 4, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. CST in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Louis Rayzor officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday April 4, 2026 beginning at 12:00 noon, CST until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky.
