February 18, 1932 - January 18, 2024
Wichita, Kansas - Marie Joy DeWitt passed away on January 18, 2024 in Wichita, Kansas. She was born in Jet, Oklahoma to Dessau and Dorothy Randolph on February 18, 1932. After she graduated high school, she moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she met her future husband of over 60 years, Dean DeWitt. Dean and Joy got married in 1955. Joy truly lived up to her name as she was a friend to everyone that she met, and she could light up a room with her infectious smile. Joy raised two sons and was involved and supportive of all their many activities, including Boy Scouts and sports. Later Joy enjoyed spending time and playing with her grandchildren.
Joy is preceded in death by her husband, Dean DeWitt; grandson, Cameron DeWitt; her parents, Dorothy and Dessau; sister, Dorothy Koehn, and brother, Robert Randolph.
Joy is survived by her two sons, Mike (Ronda) DeWitt and Mark (Jill) DeWitt; two granddaughters, Ashlee and Taylor, and one great-granddaughter, Harriett.
Graveside service for Joy will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Cemetery north of Jet, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee, Oklahoma www.lanmanfuneralhome.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
Memorials may be given to the Wichita SPCA or American Heart Association through the funeral home.

Mike, Mark and Family,
So sorry to read about your Mother´s passing. Joy was such a kind, sweet and caring person. One of the many childhood neighbors that I was so fortunate to have grow up around. May her cherished memories bring comfort to all.
