New Comer Cremations & Funerals - SyracuseMarie S. DiRoma, 101, of North Syracuse, passed away March 23, 2026. Marie was born in Syracuse, New York on April 7, 1924 to Louis and Angeline DiNiro. Marie retired from Farnham, Gorman, Cerio Law Firm where she had been employed as a legal secretary. In her free time, she enjoyed tap dancing and clogging, cooking, sewing and was an avid reader. She also liked to garden, make pizza for her visitors and spend time with family and friends. Marie was proud of being a true "North Sider" because she grew up at 210 John Street in Syracuse.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Frank D. DiRoma; father, Louis DiNiro; mother, Angeline Cutrone; son, Stephen L. DiRoma; brother, Carmen DiNiro and grandson Michael DiRoma.
She is survived by two sons, David F. (Deborah) DiRoma, Frank D. (Sherri Riley) DiRoma, Jr.; step-son Michael (Ruth) Lenweaver; 3 grandchildren, Cheryl, Julie and Thomas; 1 great grandchild, Lucy, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel at 11 AM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Syracuse Rescue Mission in honor of Dr. Brian Y. Changlai and Dr. Mary Daye.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Cynthia and Sandy of the North Onondaga Public Library for delivering books and spending time with Marie. Also a special thanks to the nurses at St. Josephs Hospital for the care they provided in Room 1417.
