Marie Gentile Obituary
Marie T. (nee DelBorrello) of South Philadelphia passed away peacefully on Friday November 28, 2025. She was 96 years young. She was the beloved daughter of the late Angelo and Angela (nee Vernamonti). Though tiny in stature, she was a ball of energy, someone who loved life, and all it had to offer.
Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Marie was a proud graduate of Hallahan High School. Marie worked as an executive Secretary of Pennsylvania Lumbermen's Mutual Insurance Co. for many years bringing professionalism and dedication to her work. She enjoyed reading, the Saturday night card games with family, and going to the casinos in AC and Las Vegas.
Marie is survived by her sisters, Edith Christinzio and Rosalie DelBorrello, and her sister-in-law, Mickey DelBorrello. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean (Joseph) Ippolito, and her brothers Peter (Elza) DelBorrello, Albert (Mickey) DelBorrello, and Louis (Connie) DelBorrello. She will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her VIEWING December 4, 2025 9am at the National Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia, 1166 S. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19146. Her funeral mass will follow at 10am. Int. Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
