Marie Jamiolkowski Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 24 to Feb. 25, 2023.
It is with profound sadness for our loss and deep gratitude for her life that we announce the death of Marie Kathleen Jamiolkowski. Marie was born on July 5, 1931, to William and Mary "Sparkle" Wall in Chicago, Illinois. She passed from life on February 19, 2023, at the age of 91. Marie attended Immaculate Conception School in Elmhurst, Illinois. She graduated from Peotone High School in Peotone, Illinois. While living in Peotone she helped in her father's Shell gas station, including running a pony ride on the grounds. Marie completed her nurse's training at Loyola University. Following graduation, she married the love of her life Raymond Jamiolkowski and worked as a registered nurse at St. Ann's Hospital in Chicago while living in Cicero, Illinois. Marie and her husband, Ray, moved to Lake in the Hills, Illinois in 1954, where they raised their four children, while she worked part-time at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elgin, Illinois. After Ray passed in 1969, Marie worked full-time as an industrial nurse at Recon Optical/Bournes CAI in Barrington, IL. In 1993 Marie moved to Scottsdale, Arizona where she continued her industrial nursing career for Motorola until she turned 65. She appreciated and was loved and respected by all of her co-workers in every work setting. Marie enjoyed the desert and the warmer winters. She loved hearing from and about her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and their spouses. Marie deeply appreciated the help and support that she received from her family, particularly from her daughter Kathy Jamiolkowski and Marty Wolf.

Marie will be sorely missed by her children: Raymond Michael Jamiolkowski (Mel Jamison), Daniel Jamiolkowski, Diane Schlake (Tad), and Kathy Jamiolkowski (Marty Wolf); her grandchildren: Jenny McGovern (Tom), David Jamiolkowski (Lisa), Bryan Schlake (Anna), Jeremy Schlake (Juliett), and Ryan Wolf (Kelsey); and her great-grandchildren: Dylan McGovern, Divina Schlake, Loretta Jamiolkowski, Hannah McGovern, Heath Jamiolkowski, Evangeline Schlake, Virginia Schlake, and Margot Wolf. Marie was proceeded in death by her much-loved husband, Raymond Jamiolkowski, and her very dear daughters-in-law Leah Rae Jamiolkowski and Nancy Jamiolkowski. A private celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
