Marie Jean Baptiste, who transitioned peacefully on January 30th, 2026, was born in Latortue, Haiti, on February 7th, 1965. Marie moved to Orlando, Florida, in 2000 to build a new life rooted in strength, sacrifice, and deep love.
Marie was a woman of remarkable resilience and determination. Although she did not have the opportunity for formal schooling, she refused to let that define her. She was self-taught and, with the support of her children, mastered everything she needed to navigate her world. To those who knew her, she was a cherished pillar of both her family and her community—a sweet, kind, and deeply loving mother and grandmother.
Her devotion to her family was unparalleled. Alongside her loving husband, Dieusel Jean-Baptiste, she raised six children and took immense pride in her twenty-three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Marie believed in her children fiercely and spoke of them with endless pride; in her eyes, we were the best in the world. Her unconditional love and unshakable faith in us remain her greatest legacy. We will always cherish the memories of her cooking delicious Haitian meals that brought us all together and the joy she found in watching her grandchildren grow.
Marie was preceded in death by her mother, Nortillia Phanord, and her son, Estel Jean-Baptiste. Her memory will be kept alive by her husband, Dieusel; her children, Esnaly, Esnel, Estery, Estervenda, Esterlande, and Camitha; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her nine siblings; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A powerful legacy of love and devotion lives on in everyone who was blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
With love and remembrance,
The Jean-Baptiste Family
