Marie E. Kacin

Marie E. Kacin (Sopcak) 70, of Plum Borough, PA, went to her heavenly home peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, surrounded by her family, whom she cherished. She was the daughter of the late John and Helen Sopcak of Plum. She is survived by her beloved husband Randy, with whom she spent more than 47 wonderful years, her beloved children Lori (Dan) Polizzano and Brian Kacin, and her dear granddaughters Olivia and Sloan. She is also survived by her siblings John (Carol) Sopcak, Kathy (Dave) Fawcett, Jim (Cheryl) Sopcak and Bill (Carey) Sopcak, numerous nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was a wonderful Wife, Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend.

Marie worked for the Westinghouse Patent Dept. in Churchill for more than 20 years as an information processor and secretary. She recently retired from UPMC where she worked as a paralegal in Contracts and Divestitures for more than 15 years.

Marie's joy was her family and spending time with them at home and at their camp at Yough Lake, where the entire family enjoyed boating and the outdoors. Marie loved photography and enjoyed capturing special moments and putting together memory books for the family to enjoy.

Marie was a long-time member of Greater Works Church. Marie loved the Lord, and her heart's desire was to encourage others, pray for them and share the love of Jesus whenever she could. Her compassion and sweet spirit made a difference in countless lives.

Friends will be received, Tuesday, 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd., 7450 Saltsburg Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15235. A service will be held, Wednesday, 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Church of Holy Family Parish.
