Standing 4'10" with a size 5 shoe, Marie was small in stature. But, that was the only thing small about her. Marie Philips Laisure (Wehrle) was a force. Her strength of will and love of her family were mountainous. Sometimes the best things come in a tiny package, and she was proof of that. Marie was born August 17, 1933 in Vandalia, Illinois to Jesse and Pearl Wehrle. She grew up in a huge, loving, often mischievous family surrounded by 7 siblings. In 1955, while in Fort Worth, Texas she met and married Charles Philips. They had a daughter, Lisa Larkin on April 17, 1956. The family moved to Oregon in 1969. They settled in the Junction City area and Marie went to work at Guaranty Chevrolet. She would spend 35+ years working at Guaranty as the office manager and later the CFO. She was widowed in November of 1985. On August, 16, 2001, Marie married Richard Laisure of Junction City. The two lovebirds married in secret in Eastern Oregon while traveling. Marie would help Richard with his locksmith business. They enjoyed their quiet life at home on Lovelake Road. Marie passed on August 30, 2022 in Coos Bay. She is survived by her youngest Brother Kenneth (Jean) Wehrle of Pennsylvania; her Daughter Lisa Larkin (Ray) of Coos Bay; Grandchildren Heather Isaac (Nathaniel), Kyle Larkin (Daneal) and Talon Larkin; 4 Great-grandchildren Luke and Carter Larkin, Branch and Avery Isaac. She was blessed with 5 amazing step-children; Alan (Roxanne) Laisure, Deb Laisure, Brian (Jessie) Laisure, Debbrah (Ken) Clough, and Cynthia Laisure. Plus 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren to love. Marie loved Eagles. She was an avid reader and was sharp as a tack. Her favorite book was the Bible and she was a member of the Junction City Nazarene Church. She spent the last 4 months living on the Coast near her Daughter in Coos Bay. She always dreamed of living on the coast and it was a dream come true. We're so thankful for her love and laughter all these years. Services will be held at the Junction City Nazarene Church on Wednesday, September 7th at 11am
