Marie Louise Murphy LaCoy

Marie Louise LaCoy, age 103 of Dacula, Georgia passed away, Saturday, November 8. She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Retired Lt.Col. Robert H. LaCoy Sr, daughter Louise Gaines and husband Dale, son in law Michael V Horner, and daughter in law Kathy LaCoy, parents Margaret and Frank Murphy, brothers Frank Murphy, Robert Murphy and William Murphy
and sister Dorothy McNamee.
Marie is survived by her children Lorraine L Horner, Hoschton, Georgia, Robert H LaCoy Jr, Buford, Georgia, Loretta LaCoy and husband Jimmy Bobo, Woodstock, Georgia; Grandchildren, Jeanette Leathers and husband David, Katherine Niesi, and husband, Robert; Michael and Nicholas Horner, Lyndsey Whidby and husband Michael, Bobby LaCoy, Joey LaCoy and wife Holly, Alexandra McGowen, and husband Aaron, and Lauren Bobo; 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren. Several nieces, including Diane Dugger, of Pennsylvania, Nancy Murphy of California and Susan McNamee of Maryland and many more nieces and nephews from all over the country.
Marie was born on April 04, 1922 in Worcester, Massachusetts and lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Chicago, Illinois, Iron Mountain, Michigan, and Japan, Germany, and Virginia before moving to Georgia.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
