Oma enjoyed gardening, cooking amazing German meals (no one ever left the table hungry), and teaching her grandchildren and great granddaughters how to make her famous Weihnachtsbutterplätzchen (Christmas Butter Cookies).
Survivors include two daughters, Gabriele (George) Hamm, Johnsonville and Claudia Reihs, Wynantskill; her grandchildren, Bettina (Colin) Tareila, Niskayuna, Erich (Sara) Schur, Schuylerville, Krista (Kyle) Gale, Nassau, Robert (Hannah Pilkey) Hamm, Mayfield and Marcus (Ashtyn) Schur, Speigletown; her great granddaughters, Jordyn, Audrey, Gwen, Lucy and Sophia; her siblings, Rudolpf (Inge) Westpfahl, Wolfgang (Lindi) Westpfahl and Hannelore Retteberg; sister-in-law, Eilene Reihs and several nieces and nephews.
