Marie Juanita "Rose" Vanetta

Marie Juanita 'Rose' Vanetta, 90, of Cumberland, Maryland, passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at the Cumberland Healthcare Center.
Born March 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Harry Thomas Jones and Bessie Agnes (Piper) Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Vanetta, Sr.; her sisters, Shirley Bucy and Doris Kline; her granddaughter, Nicole Early; and her son-in-law, Robert Early.
A beloved mother of ten, Rose expressed immense love and appreciation for her family in her final days, as well as her love for the Lord.
Rose was especially fond of playing bingo, and she cherished a years-long tradition of starting every day with coffee and the company of her late brother-in-law, John 'Sonny' Vanetta. She always enjoyed visits with her nearest and dearest. Everyone was welcome at Rose's place, where strawberries decorated the kitchen, and photographs of her proudest accomplishment - her large family - graced every furniture shelf and wall.
Surviving are her ten children: Karen Oster and husband Troy of Wiley Ford, WV; Sharon Pumroy and husband Keith of Bluffton, SC; Virgil Campbell and wife Linda of Chesapeake, VA; as well as Alice Early, Tom Campbell and partner Linda Herring, Jeanie Pratt and husband Tim, Debbie Ross, David Campbell and partner Sue Flannigan, Vicki Logsdon and husband Gary, and Raymond Vanetta, Jr. and wife Justina - all of Cumberland.
Also carrying on Rose's legacy are more than 100 grandchildren, great-, and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition, Rose is survived by her aunt (in-law), Fidelis Marie 'Pete' McMillan, and her good friends, Bonnie Friend and Julie Campbell.
Family and friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 11:00 AM with two of Rose's grandsons - Pastor Timothy Pratt and Evangelist Aaron Pratt - officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow immediately at Davis Memorial Cemetery, 14300 Uhl Hwy, Cumberland, Maryland.
