Marifrances Butterworth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Guinn Family Funeral Homes - Clio Chapel on Mar. 20, 2026.
BUTTERWORTH, Marifrances "Babe" – of Clio, age 88, died peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Gross Assisted Living. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Marifrances was born June 11, 1937, in Flint, to the late John and Vivian Grenier. She attended Lupton High School and was a wonderful stay-at-home mother for much of her life raising her three children, Mark, Greg, and Jody. On February 25, 1956, she married the love of her life, William Butterworth, and together they shared 54 years of marriage. William preceded her in death on May 19, 2010. Marifrances found great joy in crafting, expressing her creativity through crocheting, knitting, quilting, sewing, and gardening. She enjoyed traveling and visiting the casino from time to time, but her greatest happiness came from time shared with her family, especially her grandchildren, and dear friends. Her warmth and light touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed.

Marifrances is forever remembered by: Children: Greg (Kim) Butterworth and Jody (Ken) Cook; Grandchildren: Mike Butterworth, Willie (JoLynn) Brown, Josh Butterworth, and Kelly (Colton) Waller; Great Grandchildren: Annalynn and Callan; Sister, Diane Sebert. Marifrances was preceded in death by: Husband, William; Son, Mark; Parents, John and Vivian; Siblings: Bill Hart, Jack Grenier, and Shirley McLachlan.
