This is Anne Bromley, and I'm shocked and so sad to hear this news. Sending heartfelt condolences to Kevin, the family, and to George Carter, too! Marijo and I were first-year roommates at UVA when our designated roommates spent time with their sports teams, and then lived together off-Grounds for two years. She was like the best sister! Was just thinking about her and wishing we had kept in touch more often over the years.

Marijo and shared Camp Hanover experiences and sleep overs and birthdays as late elementary schoolers to middle schoolers. Though we lost touch while attending g different high schools, we reconnected on Facebook in recent years. She will be missed and remembered lovingly!!

I asked Marijo once how she became such a good speaker. She was so articulate and comfortable with it. She said her father had insisted that his children had practice doing so.
I saw her when she had just returned from a trip from Africa. She was all aglow about the experience.
I am sorry that she needed to leave so soon.

Marijo and I were neighbors and best friends from age 6 or 7. The memories are endless and joyful, but the thought that she's no longer with us is the deepest sadness. My very warmest thoughts are with Kevin, Jordan and Sophia.

Our thoughts are with our fine friend Kevin as he deals with his profound loss. I never met Marijo, but we spoke and corresponded several times about Kevin's outdoor adventures, his mountaineering gear needs and her DIY projects. Marijo supported and encouraged Kevin's visits to the PNW to join us for an annual week-long mountaineering route. On those trips, Kevin often spoke of Marijo, always in a loving manner. Peace and love to Kevin, Sophia and Jordan in this difficult time
