Marikay Huntington, age 85, passed away peacefully December 18, 2025. She is survived by her children: Scott Andrew Huntington (Elizabeth), Brian Gerald Huntington, and Lisa Marie Hrouda (Michael); 6 grandchildren: Cole Alexander Neal, Hunter James Hrouda, Tyler Jerry Huntington, Michaela Diana Hrouda, Noelle Katherine Neal, Adam Scott Huntington; siblings: Charles Gerald (Linda) Ferris and Pamela Ann (Kyle) Stong (nee Ferris), and nephews Chris Ferris (Kay), Craig Ferris (Sue) and C.J. Ferris; as well as great nephews: Brian, Justin, Evan, Jake, Josh, Dylan and Carter; and one great-great-nephew Cohen. She is preceded in death by her daughter Sheri Michelle Neal, Sister in Law Diana Ferris, and her parents Gerald F. Ferris and Virginia F. Ferris.
Marikay was a selfless woman who spent her entire life helping others every chance she could. Her calm and gentle spirit, unconditional love and acceptance made it effortless for all to love her.
Marikay worked tirelessly without complaint, often with two jobs at the same time. Her work included secretarial positions, caring for countless kids who became part of her extended family, cashier at Jewel and serving as an administrative assistant at Camelot in Naperville where she enjoyed talking to all the students and staff who came to visit her!
Above all else, Marikay cherished time spent with her family and friends. Her kids, grandkids and grandpets were everything to her! She could always be found cheering on her grandchildren at their activities and spoiling them as much as possible. The magic of Christmas and Disney World brought her immense joy. She never got tired walking around Disney World all day and night looking for Mickey Mouse and riding It's a Small World!
Her grandkids will forever treasure special memories of Grandma's cookies, cheese, apple juice, sleepovers, pizza, trips to the store past their bedtimes, going to parks, walks, sitting on the floor playing games and spending time at her pool with the cousins. Words cannot describe how proud she was of them and her unwavering, unconditional love.
The family would like to thank the compassionate team at Three Oaks Hospice for their genuine care and guidance. Additionally, a sincere and heartfelt thank you is also extended to the incredible staff at The Pearl at the Tiller's in Oswego who cared for their "Queen" and her family with dignity, compassion and love. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
