She then moved to College High (Bartlesville HS) teaching from 1970-71 and 1977-1984 focusing on Business Department classes including Shorthand, Typing, Book Keeping and General Business classes as well as Cheerleading sponsor before retiring from teaching in 1984. Marilyn married Kenneth (Ken) Lee Bruno on May 30th 1964 until Ken's passing in 2017(53 years). They had 2 children, Barry Allen Bruno and Bradley Neil Bruno.
Marilyn loved to travel, attend musical plays and concerts in Bartlesville and Tulsa. She loved to read, play crossword puzzles, tennis and ice skating. She also maintained a close relationship with her 6 best friends from high school, deemed "The Central Connection". Although they eventually continued their lives in different parts of the USA and the World abroad, they still managed to gather once every few years for a week of fun and remembrance. She also loved watching Ken coach and was always a familiar face in the stands making sure the Referees were doing their job correctly. She loved to watch her sons and grandchildren play many different sports.
Marilyn is survived by two sons, Barry Allen Bruno and his wife JoLynne Bruno of Jenks, OK and Bradley Neil Bruno of Bartlesville, three grandchildren Nathan Allen Bruno, Nicolus Ray Tessier and his wife Elizabeth, and Analeah Love Bruno and one great granddaughter Lennox Oakleigh Maye Bruno. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother David Leon Purviance.
