Marilyn Elizabeth Wilson Chase, age 82, of Fairview, died peacefully on March 17, 2026.
She was born in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada on August 31, 1943, daughter of the late Donald and Betty Casson Wilson.
Marilyn was a 1960 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and attended Villa Maria College and Penn State Behrend. She was the original owner of Mainly Country and retired from working at Penn State Behrend.
She was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, past member of the Junior League of Erie, Erie Philharmonic, and the Erie Playhouse Auxiliaries and was the past president of the Fairview Athletic Boosters. She and her husband were former members of the Kahkwa Club and the Aviation Club. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening and reading. Her cooking was known far and wide and was a consistent source of entertainment for all.
As a mother of three and grandmother of many, “Mema” relished her connections with her family. Her wit kept the household lively and her care brought comfort to many close ones. Love surrounded her: she was a woman who both deeply loved and was loved by those around her. She will be missed but never forgotten as her laughter is interwoven into the fabric of our hearts. Her affection will live on as her legacy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Chase Jr, her brother Paul Wilson and her son-in-law Robert Sheehan.
Marilyn is survived by a daughter, Heather Chase Sheehan of Myrtle Beach, SC and two sons, R.C. Chase IV (Heather Hinz) of Fairview and Jonathan Paul Chase of Erie. She had eight grandchildren: Mary Sheehan (Josh King), Jordan Sheehan Schultz (Corey), Rowan Sheehan, Julia Chase, Richard “Trey” Carney Chase V, Olivia Chase, Jonathan Chase II and Katie Chase
