Marilyn Ann Dickey, of Potosi, Missouri, was born on April 16, 1942, in Ironton, Missouri, a beloved daughter of the late Ronald Roy Hixson and the late Leola Ann (White) Hixson. Marilyn passed away on June 19, 2025, at the age of 83. Marilyn grew up in Belleview, where her parents owned and operated Hixson's General Store. This early experience instilled in her a solid work ethic, which she carried throughout her life. After graduating high school, she ventured into college for a brief period before embarking on a career with the Brown Shoe Company in Potosi, from which she eventually retired.
In 1983, Marilyn met Paul Politte, the love of her life, with whom she shared a beautiful partnership of 39 years until his passing in 2022. Together, they enjoyed many memorable trips, creating many cherished memories. Marilyn found great joy in cultivating her vegetable garden and tending to her beautiful array of flowers. Her cat, Max, brought special comfort to her following Paul's death.
Marilyn's greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her two sons, Kurt (Patty) Dickey and Kent (Tammy) Dickey. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren: Mandy (Keith) Kamper, Melissa (Josh) Gaghen, Tera Dickey, Kyle (Tiffani) Dickey, and Ryan (Allison) Dickey, as well as her eight great-grandchildren: Audrey and Jesse, Grace, Kaiden, Lily, Rylan, Madelyn, Marlee, and Mason. She treasured each moment spent with them, particularly during holiday gatherings filled with laughter and love.
Marilyn is also remembered by her in-laws Jim Bolte and Dee (Vernan) Kitchell, alongside nieces, nephews, and extended family who cherished her presence.
Most recently, during her time at the nursing center, Marilyn enjoyed engaging in games of bingo and working on jigsaw puzzles, which kept her spirits high. Her legacy is one of love and devotion, centered around her family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
