ZIONSVILLE - Marilyn Rose Essley, 82, of Zionsville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025.
She was born in Ligonier, Indiana, on Jan. 7, 1943, to Betty Chiddister (Sprague).
Marilyn was a graduate of Ligonier High School.
She then went to work for Kraft Foods in Kendallville, where she worked for more than 35 years - meeting her husband and making caramels for the world to enjoy.
After her retirement, she spent time with friends, visiting flea markets and other knick knack stores, and traveling with her beloved partner, friend and husband, Larry.
Marilyn was married to Larry J. Essley of Auburn, Indiana, for 54 years. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by Eric J. (Amy Pomeranz) Essley; grandsons, Maxwell and Phineas Essley; and her sister, Connie Burns (Bruce Burns).
After moving to Zionsville in 2012, to be closer to family, Marilyn would never be very far from her two grandsons, whom she loved dearly.
Marilyn also loved spending time with her friends in the Brunchie Bunch, painting, and shopping at local establishments.
