Marilyn Frances (Davis) Evers, 79, of
Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. A woman of quiet elegance, grace, class, and boundless kindness, Marilyn touched every life she encountered. She was deeply cherished and will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Marilyn was born on October 26, 1946, in
Jefferson City, Missouri, to Wilbur Hawkins Davis and Mary Frances (Haverkort) Davis. She was baptized at Immaculate Conception Church where her faith took root, and where she also attended grade school. She later graduated from Helias High School in 1964. It was there that she met the love of her life, Reginald "Reggie" Evers. They were soon married, beginning a lifetime marked by devotion, partnership, and unwavering love.
Marilyn earned her college degree in Elementary Education from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. While Reggie served in the military, they both moved to California where she pursued postgraduate studies at the University of California-Davis. She began her teaching career at Travis Air Force Base where her gentle spirit, patience, and dedication to her students were immediately evident.
The couple later returned to their hometown of Jefferson City, where Marilyn continued teaching in the Jefferson City Public School system. She especially loved teaching kindergarten, forming lasting bonds with her students who adored her. Marilyn fondly remembered every class she taught and took great joy in reconnecting with former students throughout her life-a testament to the lasting impact she made as an educator.
Later, Marilyn chose to step away from the classroom to devote herself fully to raising her daughters, Lisa and Andrea, and nurturing her family. She believed this role to be her most meaningful calling. She created a home filled with love, patience, warmth, and gentle guidance. Marilyn treasured hosting holiday gatherings and deeply cherished every moment spent with family and friends.
Marilyn later returned to the workforce as Manager for the Missouri Deputy Sheriff's Association, a role she held with pride, integrity, and dedication until her retirement.
She was an active and engaged member of the Missouri State Teachers Association, the National Education Association, the Special Needs Education Allowance (SNEA), Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Missouri Deputy Sheriff's Association, and the Cole County Sheriff's Auxiliary.
Marilyn is survived by her adoring husband, Reginald Evers; her loving daughters, Lisa Mueller (Scott Mueller) of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, and Andrea Weis (Nathan Weis) of O'Fallon, Missouri; and her four beloved grandchildren, Jack Mueller, Alexandria Mueller, Ethan Weis, and Katelyn Weis. She is also survived by her cherished nieces, Ann Linhardt and Beth Caspari Mitchell, nephew, Craig Caspari and brother-in-law, Raymond Caspari and treasured cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Mary Frances Davis, and her dear sister, Deanne Davis Caspari.
Marilyn lived a life of purpose, love, and grace, and her beautiful spirit will continue to inspire all the countless hearts she touched.
