Marilyn Annette "Nettie" Heinz, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 17, 2024. Nettie was born in Oklahoma on December 13, 1937 to the late Edna and Maurice Johnson. She grew up in Kansas where she graduated from Hutchison High School. She was a graduate of the University of Kansas and an alumnae of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Nettie was a devoted mother and raised her three children in Kansas City, Missouri, Metairie, Louisiana and Cincinnati, Ohio. Nettie married George Heinz in 1981. They spent many vacations skiing in Snowmass and Aspen. They settled in Aspen after George retired and loved life in the mountains. Together they enjoyed an active lifestyle of skiing, playing tennis and entertaining family and friends. Nettie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George and her daughter Suzanne Schutty Lang. She is survived by her son, Jim Schutty (Linda) of Blue Ash, Ohio, daughter, Elizabeth Schutty of Scottsdale, Arizona, son-in-law, Mike Lang of Mason, OH, stepdaughters Laura Lee Williams (Marklin), Sarah Meader (Dan), Amy Delgado (Jorge) and 12 grandchildren who she adored, sisters, Janice Dawson (Jerry) of Palm Desert, California and Nancy King (Bill) of Jackson, Mississippi along with several nieces and nephews. Nettie's family will host a celebration of life later this year.
