Marilyn Amelia Johnston, aged 91, passed away on October 2, 2025, in Yuma, AZ. Born on January 8, 1934, Marilyn spent over three decades in the Magnolia Village community of Yuma, where she was a beloved figure known for her friendly waves from her porch and her pleasant strolls around the neighborhood.

Marilyn was a devoted homemaker and a proud member of the First Christian Church, where she actively participated in the choir. Her faith was a significant part of her life, and she cherished the community she found in her church. Marilyn's hobbies included gardening, reading, crochet, and walking, all of which she shared with friends whom she frequently visited.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Johnston, known affectionately as Johnny, to whom she was married for 52 years until his passing in 2004. Though they had no children, Marilyn leaves behind a community of friends at her church and in her neighborhood, who considered themselves her family.

Before her last days, Marilyn received compassionate care from Southwest Palliative Care and Hospice, with special thanks also extended to Tata and Nana Place for their support.

A private cremation has been arranged by Del Angel Kammann Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marilyn's memory can be made to the First Christian Church, reflecting her commitment to her faith and community.
