Marilyn Rosquist Kendall

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Marilyn Rosquist Kendall, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on November 2, 2025, with her children by her side. After many years of facing health challenges with grace and without complaint, she is finally free of pain and reunited with loved ones who are likely having the best heavenly coming-home party.

Marilyn was born on June 27, 1953, and from her earliest days she filled the world with light. She had a gift for making people feel truly seen, known, and loved. Her laughter was contagious, her creativity boundless, and her compassion unmatched. Whether through a kind word, a home-cooked meal, or a handmade gift, Marilyn’s presence made life brighter for everyone blessed to know her.

She married Craig Kendall, and together they raised two wonderful children, Nicole “Nikki” and Michael “Spud,” who were the pride and joy of her life. Marilyn and Craig later divorced, and she devoted her entire life to her children and grandchildren.

Marilyn loved crafting and shared her talents freely with everyone around her. She was selfless with her time and gifts, always willing to serve. Her friendly spirit drew people in wherever she went. She made friends easily, and they loved her deeply in return. Her home was always open, and everyone who entered felt welcome and cared for. Whether it was making pizza and brownies for her children’s friends, calling to sing “Happy Birthday” to her loved ones, or cutting the crust off Brenner’s tuna sandwiches after school, she expressed her love through thoughtful acts of service.

A gifted seamstress, Marilyn poured her heart into everything she created. For many years she made Nikki and Spud’s clothing, delighting friends and family with her beautiful color combinations and playful patterns. People often raved about her eye for design and her love of color. Over the years she made countless handmade treasures such as rag dolls, beautiful outfits, and cozy blankets and quilts for her children and grandchildren. Later in life, when health challenges limited her ability to sew, she began crocheting dish rags and scrubbies, giving them to anyone who stopped by. Her booth at the local craft fair overflowed with her charming creations and always sold out quickly.

Marilyn found joy in collecting the little things that made her smile. Her home was a gallery of cherished finds, each piece telling a story. She had a natural gift for decorating and beautifying any space. Friends constantly asked her to help them choose paint colors, hang wallpaper, or beautify their homes. She had an extraordinary sense for how to make everything look just right and how to make any home feel more inviting.

Through all her years of health challenges, Marilyn never complained. She followed her doctors’ counsel faithfully and continued to live her best life by going out with her friends when she could, enjoying lunches, drives for a Coke, or simple visits filled with laughter. Her resilience and fun-filled humor were inspiring to all who knew her.

Marilyn was a bright light. People would visit her home simply for the comfort of being around her. She had a unique way of making everyone feel safe and cared for. She worked in many roles throughout her life, always bringing warmth, humor, and compassion to those around her.

Her family was her greatest treasure, and she loved her children and grandchildren fiercely. They meant the world to her. She never missed a birthday and found joy in every moment she could spend with them. She loved family traditions and the memories they created, ensuring that her legacy of love, creativity, and faith will live on for generations to come.

Marilyn is survived by her children Nicole “Nikki” Westfall and Michael “Spud” Kendall (Katie); her cherished grandchildren Bill Craig, Brandon Wade, Brenner Michael Westfall, Lucy Pearl, Amzie Mae, and Graham Michael Kendall; as well as many dear friends who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Edith Beth Call Blackett Rosquist Hanson, her father Raymond Wayne Rosquist, and her brother Jeff Rosquist.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at the Anderson Funeral Home, and a graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, ward members, and caregivers at Central Valley Medical Center who offered love, support, and prayers during Marilyn’s final days.

Her kindness was her ministry, her hands were her gift, and her home was a haven for all who entered.

In lieu of flowers, please do what Marilyn would do: serve someone in need, take a friend on a ride to get a Coke, or donate to the local food bank.
