COLONIE - Marilyn Laufer, 98, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at home with her loving family by her side. Born in the Bronx, she is the daughter of the late Abraham and Belle Kritzer.
Marilyn worked for the N.Y.S. Civil Service Department for more than 20 years, before her retirement in the mid-1990s. She had a love for crafting, needle point, and making doll houses. She was a woman of many talents, loved to read and travel as well. She will forever be remembered by her family and friends for the beautiful handmade cards she made for her loved one's for every holiday occasion.
Marilyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold Laufer; her brother, Richard Kritzer; and her sisters, Grace Novick, Corinne Miller and Natalie Sessa.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Franklin (Angela Sheehan) Laufer and Jeffrey Laufer; her grandchildren, Alison (Sean) Halpin and Rachel Laufer; her great-granddaughter, Abigail Halpin; and her nieces, Beverly Marcus and Nadine (Peter) Cahn; and cousins, Joel and Beth Radsken, Carole Israelow, Norman and Gladys Gross, and Donald Balbinder.
The family would also express its thanks to Dr. William Feeney, for all the years of special care he provided to their parents.
