Marilyn Lefevre Obituary

Marilyn Ida LeFevre, age 71 of West Chester, died Sunday February 6, 2005 at the Phoenixville Hospital. She was the wife of Frederick W. LeFevre.
Born in Amboy, Illinois she was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Marian Molitor Bartlum.
Marilyn is a 1951 graduate of Notre Dame High School, Moylan in Rose Valley, PA. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from West Chester State College in 1955. Upon gradation, she taught Health and Physical Education and coached at Conrad High School in Wilmington, DE.
She was a camp counselor and program director at Girl Scout Camp Borton in French Creek, PA and the Golden Slipper Camp in Stroudsburg, PA.
Since 1961 she was a member of St. Patrick�s Catholic Church in Kennett Square where she developed a Sacramental Program for the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, served as lector, cantor and Eucharistic Minister. She had been a member of the choir and the Ladies of St. Patricks and held a seat on the Pastoral Counsel. She was active in the Charismatic Prayer Group since 1972 and wrote The History of The Prayer Group, "The King's Mandate", for the 30th Anniversary in 2002.
During her children's school years, she served as President of the Unionville Elementary School Mothers' Club and committee member of the Unionville High School and Home Association. She was a Girl Scout Leader and a Cub Scout Den Mother.
For 41 years she was an avid enthusiast of The Unionville Community Fair. She was on the Executive Board and represented the Fair on the Board of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs. The Unionville Community Fair was dedicated to Marilyn in 1989. In 1999 she authored "A History of the Fair."
Among her many interests were theater and music. Marilyn sang with the Forty-Niners Chorus, the chorus of the Kennett Area Senior Center, The Song and Dance Troop of the West Chester Senior Center, The Joy Singers of Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church and several other community choruses in the Kennett area.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children: Glenn W. LeFevre and his wife Julianne of Wilmington, DE., Michele M. Doyle and her husband Michael of West Chester, PA, Michael J. LeFevre and his wife Gayleen of West Chester, PA and Christine M. Klick and her husband Paul of Leesport, PA; and eight grandchildren: Kelly and Jamie Doyle, Rebecca and Christopher Lorah, Haley LeFevre, and Andy, Kelly and Emily Klick.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Thursday February 10, 2005 at St. Patrick�s Catholic Church 212 Meredith St. Kennett Square, PA 19348. Friends and family are invited to her viewing from 6:30 � 8:30 PM Wednesday February 9, 2005 and 8:30 � 9:30AM Thursday at the Kennett Area Senior Center 427 S. Walnut St. Kennett Square.
