Marilyn Ann Lewis, beloved Mom and Nana, filled our lives with warmth, laughter, and
unconditional love. Born July 12, 1943, in Columbus, GA, and passing on November 26,2025, Marilyn’s life was a beautiful testament to the power of family, faith, and service. She was the heart of our family, a devoted wife, mother, nana, and great-grandmother, whose home was always open and whose table was always set for one more.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Monday, December 1, 2025 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. A public visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home,3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus GA 31907. A private interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Marilyn’s kitchen was the heart of the home filled with laughter, music, and aroma of her delicious cooking. Her home was a haven where everyone felt welcomed, loved, and celebrated. She delighted in every milestone, big or small, and her hugs could heal any hurt.
Marilyn’s faith inspired her to serve others. She volunteered at her church—singing in the choir, supporting Vacation Bible School, and lending a helping hand wherever needed. She was a devoted school room mom, supporting her children’s teachers with her time and talents.
Marilyn’s greatest pride was her family. She was a devoted wife to W.T. Lewis and a loving mother to Randy (Terrie) Lewis of Montezuma, Georgia, Rhonda (Jon) Barnett of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Mark (Cathy) Lewis of Rock Hill, South Carolina. Marilyn was a proud nana to Kimberly Barnett, Kevin Barnett (Kadee Lund), Erik Lewis, and Desmond Lewis, and a great-grandmother to Andee Barnett, Marley Lewis, Delilah Lewis, Athena Lewis, and Ruby Capes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula B. Bowden and John Henry Battles,sisters, Leila Culpepper and Sara Tucker, and her brothers, Hubert Battles, Ed Battles,and Boyd Battles, and her sister-in-law, Robbie and Delores Battles.
Marilyn is survived by her brothers-in-law, Lavon Culpepper, and Jack Tucker, as well as her sister-in-law,Dot Battles.
Though Marilyn has left this world, her legacy as a loving wife, mom, nana, and friend who really cared about others, lives on in all who knew her.
