Marilyn Ruby Narowetz, age 75, passed away on March 9, 2026. She was born in Marietta, Georgia to the late Charles Brantley and Ruby Grace Payne Holley on May 5, 1950.
On May 29, 1982, she married the love of her life, Louis John Narowetz, with whom she shared nearly 44 years of marriage.
Marilyn dedicated much of her life to the enrichment of others through her long career as a teacher. She touched the lives of countless students at Ramer Elementary, Bethel Elementary, and Selmer Middle Schools. Even in retirement, her passion for education and civic duty remained strong through her active involvement with the Retired Teachers Association and the Democratic Women’s Committee.
A woman of faith and family, Marilyn was attending Saltillo United Methodist Church in Saltillo, Tennessee where Louis was pastoring. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, from the companionship of her beloved dogs, Daffie and Bonnie, to the arrival of her grandson, Patrick. Being called "G-Mom" was a title she wore with immense pride and joy. She will be remembered for her sharp mind, her commitment to her community, and the deep love she held for her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Lance Louis Narowetz, and her brother, Morris Holley; her brother-in-law, Johnny Mathis; sister-in-law, Linda Gill Holley.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Narowetz of Bethel Springs, TN; her daughter, Laura Todd and husband Chris of Stuttgart, AR; and her cherished grandson, Patrick Todd. She also leaves behind her brothers, Marvin Holley, Craig Holley and wife Michelle, and Roger Holley and wife Lynn; her sister, Olivia Mathis; her brother-in-law, Mark Crites; sister-in-law, Linda Sutton Holley; and a host of extended family and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Grand Ave United Methodist Church, 803 S. Grand Ave., Stuttgart, AR 72160.
