Marilyn Adell Colton Peterson
July 23, 1930 – October 19, 2025
Marilyn was born on July 23, 1930, and passed away on October 19, 2025, at the age of 95. Those
are important dates to remember but that "dash" (-) between them was filled with so much life and
love.
Marilyn of Vancouver, WA, was born in Fairmont, MN, to Roscoe and Ruby Colton. She attended
school there and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1948. She continued her education at
Miss Woods Kindergarten-Primary Training School at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, and
graduated in 1950.
Marilyn met the love of her life, Robert Peterson, and they were married on January 14, 1950. She
became a wonderful mom when they were blessed with five children. She truly loved being a mom.
Marilyn and Robert's love story continued for 65 years! Two more of her favorite titles were
Grandma to 17 grandchildren and GG (great grandma) to 28 great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed cross-stitching, knitting, and reading.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Michael (Barb) Peterson, Marcia (Jeff) Stavenger, Raymond
(Terri) Peterson, Ross (Heidi Hui) Peterson, and Beverly (Bill) Westendorf; 17 grandchildren, and 28
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her four sisters.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 3pm at Immanuel Lutheran
Church, 8310 MacArthur Blvd., Vancouver, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests
memorials be sent to The Quarry Employee Gratuity Fund or PeaceHealth Hospice.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
