Marilyn Ann Putz, 87, of Harris, MN passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Prairie Senior Cottages in Isanti.
She was born March 31, 1936 in Chester, Iowa to Arthur and Rose (Gordon) Weis. She was baptized at First Methodist Church in Lime Springs, Iowa. The family moved to Minnesota when she was a young girl. When Marilyn was a Junior in High school they moved to Isanti and she graduated from Cambridge High School in 1954. Following high school, she began working in Minneapolis at the Grain Exchange.
She met Raymond Putz and they were married April 26, 1957 in Cambridge. They lived a short time in Minneapolis before moving to a farm near West Point, west of Cambridge. They eventually settled at their farm in Harris and raised their three children. She worked at Peoples Bank of Commerce for several years from which she retired.
Marilyn was a longtime member of Fish Lake Lutheran Church where she was active in WELCA, serving as treasurer and with the serving group, and was also part of the Quilting Block of The Month Group.
She enjoyed quilting and baking cookies. She and Ray went camping and traveling with their kids over the years. After Ray passed away, she traveled with a group of four widows throughout the US and Canada. She also volunteered with The Pregnancy Resource Center.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 2001, twin sister Marlys Eells, brothers Dale, Arlen and Maynard Weis and step grandson Ryan Clover.
She is survived by her children; Daniel (Lori) Putz of Correll, MN, Cindy (Michael) Stewart of Dalbo,MN, Ron (Shelley) Putz of Englewood, FL, grandchildren; Melanie Putz, Janae Putz, Christopher (Julia) Stewart, Benjamin (Hannah) Stewart, Autumn Stewart, Matthew Putz (Jess Karas), step granddaughter Jessica Clover, great grandchildren; Erika, Samuel, Levi, step great grandchildren Lucas, Alexis, Serenity, Willie, Kaylie, and Kiera, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Service 11AM, Friday, February 9, 2024 at Fish Lake Lutheran Church in Stark. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment in the church cemetery.
