Marilyn Rudolf Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 2, 2025.
Marilyn Lussier Rudolf, age 97, died on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the arms of family at her home in Tuscaloosa, AL. Marilyn was born on February 18, 1928, daughter of the late Russell Anthony Lussier and Marie McPhillips Lussier of Mobile, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Theobald Robert "Bob" Rudolf and sisters, Virginia "Dinny" Lussier Dekle and Antoinette "Toni" Lussier Reardon.

She is survived by her sister, Russell Ann "Russie" Lussier Blackwell of Mobile, AL. She is also survived by her four children, who loved her dearly: Ted Rudolf (Malia) of Sausalito, CA; Anne Kyle (Drew) of Tuscaloosa, AL; Lynn Pratt (Tom) of Beaufort, SC; and John Rudolf (Coco) of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, who knew her as "M": Robert Rudolf, Marley Rudolf, Marie Kyle Cannon (Webster), Sarah Kyle, Lynn Kyle Potts (Tanner), Thomas Pratt (Kate), Robert Pratt (fiancé Kathleen), George Pratt, William Pratt, Chris Rudolf, Will Rudolf, Mariah Boeving (Isaac Lappert), Dylan Hass (Naama) and one great-grandchild, Nate Pratt and one great-step-grandchild, Malia Lappert. Additionally, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her life is marked extensively by grace, resilience, and unconditional love. She lived to enjoy life to its fullest, especially when it came to family and friends. Over Marilyn's 97 years, she resided in Ontario, Canada, Springfield, MA, New York, NY, Mobile, AL, New Orleans, LA, Sewickley, PA, and Tuscaloosa, AL. Wherever she lived, she made friends fast and she quickly weaved her family into the local community-so fast, that no one knew what life was like without Marilyn. She devoted time to provide for her children and grandchildren with life-changing educational experiences of traveling, cooking, and antiquing, as well as athletics and other hobbies. She loved, playing bridge, flower arranging, and entertaining. In Sewickley, where she lived for over 30 years, she took great pride in serving her community in many ways.

She will be remembered for her unrelenting tenacity for travel and adventure, her unwavering support for those in need, and the deep unconditional love she had for her family. A very close family friend of 60+ years fondly remembered, "Spending time with Marilyn was always full of fun and unexpected adventure."

A private family memorial service will be held in November in Tuscaloosa.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorials be made to Christ Episcopal Church (605 Lurleen B Wallace Blvd N. Tuscaloosa, AL 35401) or Hospice of West Alabama (3851 Loop Rd. Tuscaloosa, AL 35404)
