Marilyn Russell was born on May 12, 1948 in McRae, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Calcia Cornelius (CC) and Etta Louise Ferrell Motes.
On August 26, 1964, she was united in marriage to Willie Brownlow Russell, who preceded his wife in death on May 26, 2022.
Prior to moving to Savannah, Mrs. Russell lived in Pekin, Illinois from 1964 until 1991. She worked in the Radiology Department at Pekin Memorial Hospital and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin, Illinois. Marilyn loved her family, socializing, cooking, and listening to Southern Gospel music.
Marilyn Russell departed this life on July 13, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 76 years, 2 months, and 1 day.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Russell of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Mark Russell (Lyndi Mallory) of Pekin, Illinois; daughter in law, Debbie Russell of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Joyce Carmack of Plant City, Florida and Janice "Jan" Price (Raymond) of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Magan Russell and Cale Russell (Holly), both of Savannah, Tennessee and Cole Russell of Pekin, Illinois; great grandchildren, Cohen Russell and Micah Russell, both of Savannah, Tennessee; nieces, Tina Carmack-Sapp, Tracy Price-Curtis (Freddy), and Susan Motes Taylor (Keith); and nephews, David Motes, Donnie Carmack, Doug Carmack, and Tony Carmack.
In addition to her husband and parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother, Royce Eugene Motes; niece, Tammy Motes; and stepson, Steven Lynn Russell.
