Marilyn Thompson was one of the finest elementary school teachers from both a professional and personal perspective. Her willingness to take the time to reassure nervous mothers or to share her classroom experience will be remembered by me and my family. My sympathies to you all; she will be missed by many.

Mrs. Thompson had a piano in her second grade classroom. It was that piano and her gentle encouragement that began me on a path that would lead to a lifetime of love for playing and listening to music. I will fondly remember her as my favorite elementary school teacher.

Mrs. Thompson was my favorite teacher. Even after twenty eight years I still remember second grade more fondly than the rest. Thank you Mrs. Thompson for being so cool.
