Celebrating the life of Marilyn Whiton, born on August 24, 1949, in Waterbury, CT, Marilyn passed away on October 8, 2024 in Tacoma, WA, Marilyn was a beacon of joy and support to her family, friends, and co-workers throughout her 75 years of life. Her unwavering loyalty was deeply admired, and her warm, supportive nature made her a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Private family burial. There will a celebration of life on November 3 in Tacoma at 1:00 PM.
Marilyn was incredibly proud of her career in the aerospace industry, where she diligently served as a clerk. Her dedication was recognized through her proud membership in the 751 IAM union. Outside of work, Marilyn was a woman of many passions. She enjoyed reading, shopping, and going out for lunch, always taking the time to get her hair and nails done. A dedicated member of St. Charles Borromeo, her faith was a cornerstone of her life. In line with her Catholic faith, we remember the words from the book of Matthew, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." (Matthew 5:8)
What mattered most to Marilyn were the bonds she shared with her family. She was survived by her sisters Arlene (Gary) DeCoursey, Nancy Coghe; And brother Robert Masterson, her four sons, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Coghe. Marilyn leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and commitment to her family that will be cherished forever.
We encourage friends and family to share memories and upload photos of Marilyn on her memorial page, as a tribute to her remarkable life. We take comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as her memory will forever live in our hearts.
