Marilyn Williams Obituary

Marilyn (Jamieson) Williams

June 22, 1932 - December 28, 2025

Marilyn Julia Williams, 93, of Moline, Ill., passed away Sunday December 28, 2025, at Silvis Center in Silvis, Ill.

Marilyn was born June 22, 1932, in Moline, Illinois, to Carl and Julia (Keris) Anderson. She married Robert Jamieson in 1950 and they later divorced.

She retired from Eagle Signal, Davenport, Iowa where she worked for 25 years. She moved across the country to Arizona and later to California, back to Arizona, and then to Florida with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. During her years away from the Quad Cities, she continued playing Bingo and became known for her impressive ability to play 18 cards at once.

She kept her mind sharp as a talented crossword puzzle solver and hands busy as she tended to her beautiful flowers. She loved life in warmer weather, but returned to Moline to be near her sons whom she loved.

Surviving are her son, John Jamieson, East Moline, Ill.; her daughter and son-in-law, Darcie and Glen Cary, Gilbert, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Eric Jamieson, Andrea Jamieson, Stacy Jamieson, Mandy Jamieson, Amanda Bower, Tyler Cary, and Samantha Christian; along with 15 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her son, Robert Jamieson, Jr.; parents, Carl and Julia; and her sister, Jackie Cerra.

We honor the legacy Marilyn leaves behind. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. Interment will be at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline, Ill. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
