Mario "Chewy" Lamond Carson, 42, of Marion, tragically and unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
He was born in McDowell County on June 29, 1982 to Joe Conley and Mamie Lafayette Carson.
Mario possessed a unique ability to make others laugh, infusing light and warmth into every gathering. Known for his reserved nature, when he did speak, his words were profound and carried weight, commanding the attention and respect of all who listened.
A lover of music and an enthusiastic gamer, Mario found immense joy in both these passions. He cherished the moments spent dancing, his spirit shining brightly on any occasion that warranted celebration. His zest for life was infectious.
Mario was also deeply devoted to his beloved canine companion, Cerberus, who was by his side through many of life's adventures. The bond they shared was a reflection of his kind-hearted nature and unwavering loyalty. These qualities made him a wonderful dog breeder. He was a remarkable individual whose presence brought joy and laughter to those around him.
He is survived by his loving companion of nine years, Heather Hoyle; three children, Marianna Carson, Azmond Carson, and Keyonna Thompson; his father, Joe Conley; his mother, Mamie Carson; five siblings, Shanell Felton, Camillia Conley, LaToya Conley, Sonya Conley, and Shaun Carson; his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Carson; and a number of nieces, nephews, and uncles.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Beam Celebration Center. A celebration of Mario’s life will begin at 3:00 p.m.
