Mario Dobrich Obituary

In 1951 he arrived in Seaford, Delaware with his uncle and worked with him delivering eggs (which is how he met his wife – Noreeta Mulder)
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Noreeta, two sons, Marco (Georgetown) and Carlo (Vermont), and four grandchildren, Alexander, Samantha, Lorenzo, and Elizabeth.
He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Seaford, DE. He was a proud employee of the Seaford DuPont Plant from 1953 to 1992, working in the maintenance department as a welder. In 1954 he joined the Delaware National Guard and was a Sergeant in the AAA Artillery.
Mario was an avid sportsman. He was one of the founders of the Nanticoke Sportsman Gun Club, holding the seat of vice president for 30 years. He was very competitive, winning the state champion in cowboy shooting in 1992 (his nickname was El Pistol).
He enjoyed canoeing and competing in Deal Island with his son Marco.
In his last good years of life, he joined the Nanticoke River canoeing group in Seaford, and participated in the 2014 Nanticoke River Float In, decorating his canoe like a gondola, something that he was able to check off his bucket list.
He and his wife Noreeta traveled all 50 states, Canada, South America, Europe, and traveled to Alaska with their 5th wheel, motorcycle and canoe in tow.
Mario touched many lives with his involvement in an assortment of activities, and he would always have a story to tell if there was an ear to listen.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Vitas Hospice for their excellent care, making Mario's end of life a bit easier.
A public viewing will take place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N Shipley Street, Seaford, DE, following the viewing the Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 528 E Stein Highway, Seaford, DE. Interment will be private.

Noreen and family, I´m so sorry about your loss of Mario. So, sorry I missed his service.
I have such fond memories of Mario, he felt like family. As my father and family would agree. He worked many years for my father welding and helping construct grain tanks on the eastern shore. He and my dad (Lucian Jones) shared many experiences from the love of welding, storms and boating. Even some youngsters that my dad hired to this day ask about Mario! Dennis Todd told a story about an exciting fishing trip together...! They too remember and enjoy his stories and time together.
I speak for all of my family and all of those that have passed, that Mario touched our lives and was loved.
