Mario D. DuCote, Jr., aka "MD", of
Mays Landing, New Jersey, and formerly of
Atlantic City, New Jersey, was born on Sunday, January 26, 1975, in Atlantic City. He departed this life on Sunday, October 15, 2023, in the University of Penn Medical Center,
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Mario attended the public schools of Atlantic City; Venice Park School, Indiana Avenue School, Central Junior High School and graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1993. He loved all sports, but his favorite was football. He played for the Atlantic City Dolphins. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs. Mario also played little league baseball at the Dolphins field. He loved and was loyal to his whole Venice Park crew. He loved to play chess and taught both of his sons to play. He was hilarious! He loved music of all kinds. He also liked fishing and crabbing.
Mario always took special pride in teaching young men their worth and trying to guide them to positive progressive thought patterns. He reached back quietly to guide his friend's children after they had passed on, always wanting them to feel special and that someone cared.
Mario was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Doris Brown; his paternal grandmother, Thelma DuCote; uncles, Vincent "Bo" Brown, Cecil DuCote, Kevin DuCote, and Lance DuCote; his aunts, Jacqueline Brown and Lori DuCote; and his cousin, David Bair.
He leaves to cherish precious memories: his sons, Javon and Jaden DuCote; his mother, Renee Brown; stepfather, Charles Bush; biological father, Mario DuCote, Sr.; sister, Sonte Anderson; two nieces, Kylah and Nyah Bazemore; his nephews Samar Harris; aunts, Sandra Owens (Leroy), Sarita Stroud (Lauren), Cheryl Worthy (Joseph), and Shari Olise (Mack); uncle, Daryl DuCote (Barbara); a host of cousins too many to list whom he loved dearly; and a special mention of his friends, Carlos and Dennard Brown, Antuan Spivey, Corey Allen, Sam Morales, Stu, Black, Abdullah Mohammed, Umar Salahudin, and Louis Gould.
