Marion A. Bartells, age 79, of Wheaton, MN joined our family of angels on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at St. Gerard's Community Nursing Home in Hankinson, ND. She had been a resident there since earlier this year.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Covenant Church in Wheaton with Pastor Tim Shekleton officiating. Pianist will be Cheryl Shekleton.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 22nd from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service and Time of Sharing at the Bainbridge Funeral Home in Wheaton. Visitation will continue Friday morning one hour prior to service time at the church.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton at a later date. Urn bearer will be Augustin Hubrig. Honorary urn bearers will be Nana’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marion Adelle (Hanson) Bartells was born on April 27, 1944 in Wheaton, MN, the daughter of Francis “Happy” and Esther (Hormann) Hanson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton.
She was a graduate of Wheaton High School. She married Fred Bartells on November 29, 1963 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. The couple had two daughters, Robin and Angela.
Marion was a CNA for many years at the Traverse Care Center. She resided in Norcross, MN and made the drive to work, working the night shift mostly. She loved spending time with family, and could always be found playing bingo and the Traverse or Grant County Fairs.
She is survived by her daughter Robin Amborn (Bruce Job) of Rosholt, SD; and her family Cory (Traci Baumgartner) Amborn of Wheaton; Jacob (Tiffany) Amborn of Moorhead, MN; and Austin (Mariell) Amborn of Breckenridge, MN; along with great-grandchildren Ally, Avery, Chloe, Chase, Aden, Ava and Hunter Amborn; daughter Angela (Patrick) Knowles of Wheaton, MN; and her family Augustin (Jordyn Enno) Hubrig of Horace, ND; Alexander (Kate) Hubrig of Fargo, ND; and Alexis (Dylan Oss) Hubrig of Breckenridge, MN; and great-grandchildren: Lucas Wylie, Zachary Wylie and Oaklynn Oss; her sister Beverly Erickson of Wheaton; nephew Ronald Erickson of Milnor, ND; special friend Lisa Iverson of Norcross, MN; brother and sister-in-laws: Norman Bartells Jr. of Herman, MN; Larry (Lana) Bartells of Upsala, MN; Glen (Carol) Bartells of Burnsville, MN; Kenny (Sylvia) Bartells of Clitherall, MN; Paul (Kathy) Bartells of Elbow Lake, MN; Curtis (Sherry) Bartells of Jordan, MN; and Viola Bertram of Willmar, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband Fred Bartells; brother-in-law Bernard V. Erickson; nephew Bernard E. Erickson; father-in-law Norman Bartells and mother-in-law Edna Bartells.
A special Thank you to St. Gerard’s Community Nursing Home for their excellent care of Marion during the past several months.
