Marion Mark Cassel, 101, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness. Marion was born November 3, 1923, in Union, Ohio, the son of Harry and Josephine (Kruss) Cassel. He was the youngest of 10 children. He graduated from Brookville High School in 1941.

In 1943, Marion enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He was a tail gunner on the Consolidated B-24 Liberator, and his plane was "Blazin' Bessie". He served in three campaigns over occupied Europe and was honorably discharged in 1945.

Marion met and married the love of his life, Juanita Clendenin, and they raised three children, Charlene "Sue", Mark and Dan. Marion and Juanita loved Big Band Music, playing cards, and they enjoyed wintering in Florida and fishing.

They owned Cassel's Cottages on the Lake in Marblehead for many years. After they sold the business, they became snowbirds. Juanita passed away January 13, 1998, in Florida. Marion eventually sold his properties and started living at Otterbein Senior Living in Lakeside.

Surviving are his daughter, Charlene "Sue" (Ray) Bodi; sons, Mark (Barb) Cassel and Dan (Kathy) Cassel; three grandchildren, Mike (Mindy) Bodi, Anita Branch, and Cherie Cassel McCleese; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanite; grandson, Dan Cassel Jr.; and all nine siblings.

Private services for the family will take place in the spring. Interment will be at Catawba Island Cemetery.
